Spartans Remain Undefeated
Fairborn, OH (September 9, 2005) Curtis Moore rushed for 253 yards, including a 47 yard touchdown, enroute to a 47-20 win over the Division 1 Fairborn Skyhawks. The win moved the Spartans to the 3-0 mark. The Skyhawks remain winless.
Defensively, Valley View limited Fairborn to 220 yards, the majority coming in the third quarter, where turnovers helped the Skyhawks to create the illusion of a comeback.
In a game that could have been a let-down for the Spartans, (coming off of last weeks OT win against Roger Bacon), Valley View was looking to repay the Skyhawks for the 42-19 drubbing they took at home in 2004. That loss in week 3 hurt the Spartans' chances for the playoffs in the shortened nine-game season.
As they enter week 4, the Spartans remain number one in the unofficial computer rankings, and begin the trek through the SWBL against their southern neighbor, Middletown Madison.
