Second Quarter Explosion Seals Spartan Win

Germantown, OH (September 23, 2005) Curtis Moore's 43 yard reception, on the game's second play from srimmage, setting the tone for the remainder of the game and propelling the 5-0 Spartans closer towards post-season play. Moore wento on to finish the game with 147 yards on 16 carries.

Carlisle, the defending Buckeye Division champions, did manage to keep the ball out of the Spartan's hands in the second half, yet managed only six points on the back of QB Ben Drury.

The Spartans were continually confused by Drury's successive, up-the-middle play calling, a tactic that was highly successful, despite the Indian's ability to kill virtually every second-half series with penalty after penatly.

The Spartans travel to Oakwood (4-1) in week 6 for the first of two potentially tough road games. The Spartan defense will need to step up tackling dummy practice if they intended to maintain their undefeated march towards post-season action.
