Spartans End Season on Three-Game Winning Streak
Camden, OH (February 11, 2005)— Valley View couldn't hit the bucket for the first 4 minutes and seven seconds yet still walked away with a 63-56 win over neighboring Preble Shawnee. The win was the third straight for the Spartans and provides some much needed momentum going into Friday's tournament game against number two seed, Chaminade-Julenne. Game time is at 8:30 p.m. at Springboro High School.
Senior Trey Weidle led the scoring with 23 points, including a 5 for 6 night in three point range, that crippled the Arrows in the second period. The Spartans went on a 22-5 point spree in the period that propelled them to a 16 point half-time lead.
Shawnee came within seven, late in the fourth quarter, to give the Spartan faithful a minor scare, but Valley View held on for the nine point win.The Spartans end the season 7-13 overall and third n the SWBL Southwestern Division with a 4-6 record.
