Osterman and Myers Team Up to Down Spartans
Germantown, OH (January 22, 2005)— The Monroe Hornets, a team full of freshman that won the MML junior high tournament last year, blitzed the Valley View Spartans, 64-54, in non-league action Saturday night.
It was the combined scoring of Tyler Osterman (28 points) and Jeff Myers (22 points) in the second half that effectively sunk the 4-10 Spartans. Kyle Dunaway led the scoring for Valley View with 16 points.
It was a runaway third period, that saw the Hornets outscore the Spartans 18-9, that set up the knock-out punch in the fourth period, where they almost matched the same 2-1 scoring performance.
The Spartans square off next with Bellbrook when they travel to Greene County next Friday.
